The FACE@APPS committee is thrilled we can have a disco this year. We need to do things a little differently than previous years, but we hope it will be the same fun night the kids have come to know and love, or if it’s their first disco, that they have a super fun time with their friends.
To book your children in for the event follow the steps outlined below. If you have any questions, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Complete a booking form for each child
Completing the booking form ensures we have important information about each child available to volunteers on the night. Two sessions will be held, the early one for junior school (Foundation to grade 2) 5.30pm to 7pm and senior school (grade 3-6) 7.30-9.00pm. Please complete the booking form and make payment (step 2) by Wednesday 2 June.
Pay for tickets
Pay for the number of tickets you require through Trybooking . You need to buy one Disco Fun ticket for each child. The cost is $10 per ticket and includes:
- entry to the disco
- glowstick on arrival
- access to activities like fake tattoos, nail polish station, face painting.
If your child would like to buy a sausage or lolly bag (or a few!) on the night, please send them with some money. Lolly bags will be $2 and sausages will be $2.50 each. There will also be a spinning wheel kids can play to win small chocolates (like a Freddo Frog), this will be $2 for 4 spins.
Volunteer to help out on the night
To ensure this event is safe and can go ahead we need lots of parent volunteers! You can sign-up to help through our online roster. All volunteers must have a current working with children check registered at school front office. We have a qualified first aid and child safety person on during the night. Please note: no adults, other than volunteers (or school staff) will be allowed to stay at the disco during the sessions, only to drop off and pick-up their child/ren.
All children must be signed in and out from the event by an adult strictly adhering to session start and finish times so we can be ready for session two on time, and the volunteers can go home by a reasonable hour after pack-up. Sign-in/out tables will be outside under the breezeway near the hall’s main entrance.
Parents will then walk their kids to the hall side entrance (next to basketball court) to go into the hall (parents remain outside). This door will also be the location for parents to collect their children at the end of their session. Parents must sign their child out at the sign-in/out tables before leaving. The exits will be manned all night so that children can’t leave the hall unsupervised.
What kids can bring
Kids will need to bring their own water bottle. They won’t be allowed to go outside to use the drinking fountains. However, volunteers can fill up water bottles for children at the hall kitchen.
As much as kids like to take selfies, no devices will be allowed at the event. This is a school event and we need to protect children’s privacy. But it also means devices won’t get lost. If you need to contact the event manager on the night you can call Vicky on 0431 630 548.
If your child is sick on the day of the disco, or your family has any risk of being exposed to Covid19, please stay home. We are happy to refund your ticket.
The event will be Covidsafe observing hygiene methods, density limits and social distancing for adults.
